“Datex node – intermodal data interchange” project awarded by ASSOLOGISTICA

For ports and freight village, Softech has developed a project based on the supply of the Datex Node and the VEGA management system; the aim is to implement an information system for data interchange with the motorway network through the use of panels variable message and (in the future) to convey information through apps dedicated to the world of road transport.
Thanks to these two tools, important information will be provided to hauliers entering and / or exiting the intermodal center who, being informed about the condition of traffic and roads, will be able to plan their journey in an informed manner, avoiding queues and stall situations, being able to intervene. on the way even during construction.
A clear and interesting example of the efficiency expected from the use of the system is reported by Quadrante Europa Interport:Trucks coming from Bologna will be able to find out, along the A22 motorway network between Modena and Verona, any delay of the train arriving or departing in Verona or in general of criticalities present in the intermodal node. This therefore allows to warn the transporter in time and not to let him arrive in a context already overloaded with traffic jams or bottlenecks. On the other hand, a truck departing from the Europe Quadrant will be able to know the road situation immediately, especially in the event of particular events that slow down or block traffic. The information system will be shared with the relevant A22 and A4 dealerships through the European standard protocol called Datex II. Integration through international protocols is the real added value and allows you to potentially verify information along the entire Brenner corridor” (for the full version: http://www.quadranteeuropa.it/it/news-qe/420-premio-logistico-dell-anno-2019-a-consorzio-zai.html)
Improving the efficiency of connections between linear (rail, road and river) and punctual infrastructures (urban nodes, ports, interports and airports) is a strongly felt issue, not only at national level: Europe has deployed huge resources under form of investments and financing to entities for the implementation of projects which, such as that of the Quadrante Europa, help the completion and innovation of the Core Network within the Trans-European Transport Networks (TEN – T).
