Softech & C-roads italy
Softech, with Autostrada del Brennero, started the development and testing of the project C-Roads.
C-Roads is a Platform that bringing together authorities and road operators covering twelve Member States (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Slovenia, Sweden, UK) to harmonise the deployment activities of cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS) across Europe.
The project aims to provide a safe, reliable and efficient transport system, improving road safety, traffic efficiency and driver comfort, helping the driver to take the right decision and adapt to the situation of traffic.
Technical and organisational aspects will be tested in several pilot sites across the Europe, where, through cross testing, will be tested and evaluated the performance and reliability of the system and service C-ITS harmonised. To ensure interoperability, cross site tests will be organized by the C-Roads Platform and performed by the C-Roads.
C-Roads Italy plans to test a series of C-ITS “Day 1”, mostly along the A22, and in the future, also along the motorway sections of CAV and Autovie Venete.
