The Catania Fontanarossa Airport, in adopting a complete platform in the environmental sector, has chosen Softech as a long-term strategic partner.
The collaboration began in 2005, with the installation of the airport noise monitoring system correlated to the radar tracks (SARA) that subsequently, in 2016, will be extended with the air quality control system: it will be the first in its kind in Italy.
In 2017, as part of the ACA (Airport Carbon Accreditation) certification process, the airport chooses to adopt the EAGLE4AIRPORT system that not only allows the monitoring of non-electric vehicles in the fleet, but also the assessment of CO2 emissions.
Always the same year, responding to the indications of European legislation in terms of publication and transparency, the environmental totem was installed in the terminal arrivals area.
More recent (2018) is the installation of the new ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL ROOM, which allows specialized technicians to give their full attention to the real-time control of environmental monitoring systems.
Organized in 2 stations equipped with high-definition monitors, the control room allows real-time management of the information about: flights, radar tracks, noise pollution and air quality, as well as citizens’ complaints, entered via Public Viewer and collected in the SARA system.
This operation ensures not only the maximum efficiency of monitoring systems, but also the availability of up-to-date and truthful data for citizenship and for the authorities responsible for environmental prevention and protection.
Catania is an example of success in the field of environmental monitoring that comes from a collaboration with our company based on listening to the customer and adapting the systems to their needs.
