Softech project for porta and interports, is based on the supply of Datex  and VEGA management system to the aforementioned entities; the final purpose is to implement an information exchange system with the motorway network using variable message panels and (in the future) to convey the information through apps designed to the world of haulage.

Thanks to these two tools, important information will be provided to hauliers entering and / or leaving the intermodal center who, being informed about traffic condition and roads situation, will be able to plan the journey in more efficient way, avoiding traffic jams and stalemates, being able to modify the route also as they go along.

A clear and interesting example of the expected efficiency of the use of the system is reported by Quadrante Europa: “while on the A22 Motorway, trucker coming from Bologna will be able to learn about the delay of the trains in arrival or departure from Verona station or in general of critical issues present in the intermodal node. This allows the transporter to be warned in time and not to arrive in a context already overloaded with traffic jams or bottlenecks. On the other hand, a truck departing from Quadrante Europa will be able to know the traffic situation well before departure, especially in the case of special events that slow down or block traffic. The information system will be shared with the relevant A22 and A4 dealers using the European standard protocol called Datex II. Integration through international protocols is the real added value and allows potentially verifying information even along the entire Brenner corridor. “(For the full version: 420-award-logistics-dell-year-2019-a-consortium-zai.html)

The efficiency of the connections between linear infrastructures (railways, roads and rivers) and punctual infrastructures (urban nodes, ports, interports and airports) is a strongly felt topic, not only at a national level: Europe has deployed huge resources in the form of investments and financing to the institutions for the implementation of projects which, like  Quadrante Europa, help the completion and innovation of the Core Network within the trans-European transport networks (TEN – T).
